I’m a new program and I want to get started on my Rising Stars for ME application. What’s the first step?

Starting a new program involves a lot of paperwork, applications, and organization. It’s helpful to review the Rising Stars for ME Standards and resources early in the process, so you can keep in mind what documents you might need on hand to add to your E-Portfolio.

For new programs – both family child care and facilities – there are a few steps that must be completed before you will have access to your program’s Rising Stars for ME application:

  1. Your program must have an assigned Director of Record Access (DoRA)

  2.  Facilities only – your program must have at least one staff member listed under your license number. (Note that all programs should have an accurate staff list in the MRTQ Registry before completing the Rising Stars for ME application to ensure accurate calculations for program requirements.)

  3. Your program must be in “Active” status with Child Care Licensing. Programs in “Applied” status cannot access the question on the Rising Stars for ME application.
